The newly minted comics publisher, Ghost Machine, offers many ideas for stocking stuffer gifts. No matter what your gift recipient’s reading interests, the publisher offers a fun read to fill it. Use their release calendar to plan your gift-giving or use these ideas.
Lovers of Military and Science Fiction Stories
Buy the deluxe hardcover edition of Junkyard Joe for your favorite comic book fan. The story starts in Vietnam when the U.S. military builds Junkyard Joe, a robot soldier programmed for patriotism and life-saving. It quickly moves to the present day, when the robot contacts one of the men he served with, Muddy, because the government wants to reprogram him for evil. Muddy has crafted a career by drawing a comic based on Joe, who the military convinced didn’t exist. The hardcover edition includes all of the issues that have hit the comic stores and juicy extras, and it reached stores on November 27, 2024.
A Comic for Fantasy Fans
On that same date, Ghost Machine Comics released its first issue of “Hornsby & Halo,” a dark comedy comic about an angel and a demon whose families traded them at their birth. The comic picks up when Zachary Halo and Rose Hornsby reach their teens. There’s nothing like the angst of youth multiplied by finding out that you’re a demon instead of an angel or vice versa. See puberty in a whole new light through Rose and Zac.
Horror Upon Horror on Hyde Street
Fans of horror comics flocked to “Hyde Street,” which debuted on October 2, 2024, and got its second issue released on November 27, 2024. It continues the story of the happenings on Hyde Street, that dangerous road that exists in every town or city. In this story, Pranky prowls for someone to kill, and he chooses a corrupt cop.
